Going to Europe? Read this ETIAS travel update please.

Important Announcement:

The upcoming, mandatory visa-waiver procedure (ETIAS) and associated fee for Americans and Canadians to enter the European Union has been postponed until the fourth quarter of 2026… yet another reason to travel there now!  It has been announced that the cost per person for ages 18 to 70 will be 20 Euros each.  Note: if the traveler is under 18 or over 71, they will still need the entry-permission, but will not be charged any fee.  No one from the US or Canada will be exempt from the ETAIS permission itself –not even babies.

BEWARE of middleman/third-party commercial sites who may be overcharging and are not legit, like the ubiquitous ETIAS. com The only official ETIAS site is the one shown below:

April is trip-planning month!

As the weather changes over to spring, many of our readers start thinking about where they want to go in the months to come. We think that April itself is a fantastic month for a getaway and one of our ten clued-in cities should fit the bill nicely! Miami is not scorching hot, New York City is finally warming, and the whole of Europe is relatively uncrowded. Yes, April in Paris is famously regarded for a reason, Munich’s beer gardens are open, the quintets on the piazza in Venice are playing, Rome is mild and lovely, Florence is just beginning to bustle, Barcelona is quainter than ever, and both London and Edinburgh have started their many spring events. It’s so much better now than in August that one cannot even compare the two. Consider booking a trip soon, and check out our city-extras pages at cluedintravelbooks.com (through the menu bar) to see our latest tips and suggestions.
Happy travels, Dean and Andie
